Why was PUBG banned?
PUBG Mobile India owned by Tencent gaming buddy was prohibited along with few other Chinese applications by the Indian government in September 2020 because of information protection and data privacy concerns under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
The Government of India expressed in the request that the applications were "biased to the sway and honesty of India, protection of India, the security of the state and public request".

The Battlegrounds Mobile India website says that a user can enter a "verification code" three times, after which it will stop working. A verification code will be valid for five minutes before it expires.
Players can request a code 10 times before they are restricted from doing so for 24 hours. A single phone number can register with 10 accounts.
Players of the Battlegrounds Mobile India game would recall that PUBG Mobile had different login techniques including Facebook, Google Play, or visitor accounts.
PUBG Mobile influencer GodNixon has informed on YouTube that PUBG Mobile parts in India will actually want to relocate their information over to Battlegrounds Mobile India. However, Krafton has not officially confirmed this news.
