It doesn’t matter why you bought a Nest Wi-Fi and what you will do with it. Our prime concern is What is a nest Wi-Fi and how to set up a nest Wi-Fi?

What is a nest Wi-Fi?

Google Nest Wi-Fi is a new smart home speaker embedded in the nest Wi-Fi router, isn’t it amazing?

The Google Nest Wi-Fi serves multiple purposes. Each nest Wi-Fi has a speaker attached to it. You can play music, talk to it and control other compatible devices with voice commands.

The appearance of the device is smooth and sleek. It looks cute, and it has a lighting system that gets activated when you talk to it. The lights turn yellow when the device is muted. It is somewhat similar to a Google mini speaker.

One interesting feature of Nest Wi-Fi is that it has a hole on the backside, so you can hang it on your wall also.

How to Set Up Nest Wi-Fi?

The nest Wi-Fi router and point establish a mesh network replacing the existing router. You will get a Nest Wi-Fi router, access points (1 or 2 depending on the package you purchased) along with their adapters, Ethernet cable in your package. You will also need a smartphone to set up your Nest Wi-Fi.

Connect your router with your Internet provider’s modem. It helps create the Wi-Fi network. With each point, you can strengthen your Wi-Fi network. The bigger space the more points you will need to develop a strong and better mesh network.

  1. Get the necessary apps and accounts

Before you finish setting your Nest Wi-Fi, download the Google Home app. Create a Google account and ensure a good internet service and a modem that will provide the internet service.

  1. Connect your router

The Ethernet port is present below the nest router, connect the Ethernet cable to it. Connect the other end of the Ethernet port to your modem. Connect your power cable to the router and the adapter to a power supply.

A small white light will appear on the router when it is ready to set up. Ensure that your router is close to your modem, otherwise, the network can be disturbed.

  1. Add a router to the Google Home app

Connect your router to your Google Home app. Create a room to connect the app with your router. If you have already created a room, click on the add icon and connect your router to the app.

Scan the QR code present at the bottom of the router using your phone camera. The Google Home app will check your network connection and will finish the setup. You can also rename your network and select a password to keep it protected.

The faint white light spot will turn solid white indicating that the router has been successfully set up.

  1. Connect nest Wi-Fi point

Now connect your nest Wi-Fi points. Ensure that a point is two rooms away from the router and other pointers. Connect the power cable to the point and the adapter into the power outlet.

It will take a few seconds and the white light will turn brighter and the Google Assistant will talk to you. The assistant will let you know that the setup has been completed successfully.

  1. Repeat the process

Repeat the same process to set up other points and develop a mesh network. Once you have finished setting up the device, the Google Home app will run a mesh test to ensure that all the devices are correctly placed.

Suggestion for the best nest Wi-Fi network

Make sure that your pointers are not covered by anything. Keep them in a steady and plain place. The walls or other objects of your house depending upon the material can interfere with the network and reduce the coverage.

Change the location of your router or pointers if you are facing any issues.

Keep the pointers open for strong Wi-Fi signals.

Check the setup by checking the internet or playing music using a voice command.
