What is the congress toolkit controversy?

The BJP and Congress members have once again got involved in a controversy and pointing fingers at each other. BJP has accused the Congress party of creating a toolkit dedicated to corner Prime minister Modi over the COVID-19 crisis.

The congress party denies such claims and accused BJP of spreading fake news and rumors. The Congress national spokesperson Sunil Ahire has informed with a tweet that a complaint has been filed by his party against BJP leaders for spreading fake news on the toolkit. 

How did the toolkit controversy start?

The toolkit controversy started on 18th Jan when some of the BJP’s party members shared the toolkit screenshot and accused the Congress party of targeting the PM and tarnishing his image. 

What was the reaction of BJP’s ministers?

On Wednesday, the national spokesperson of BJP, Sambit Patra shared the screenshots of the toolkit claiming that its author is Saumya Verma, a part of Professor Rajiv Gowda's research team. He claimed that the toolkit was created by Professor Rajiv Gowda's research team. Professor Rajiv Gowda is in charge of the Congress party's Research Wing.


However, Rajiv Gowda has denied his claims and accused him of spreading fake lies.&nbsp
The prominent leader and president of BJP, JP Nadda has also criticized the Congress party on the toolkit issue and accused of creating a divide in society.

What was the reaction of the Congress party?

Congress party has denied all these accusations and accused the BJP of creating a fake tool kit and spreading lies. Congress party also criticized the BJP and criticized them for low-level politics.

Congress National Convener, Saral Patel informed that the Congress' Social Media Department and Research Department has filed a complaint against Smabit Patra and JP Nadda with the Delhi Police for spreading fake documents and tarnishing the party’s image. 

Priyanka Gandhi also reacted to the toolkit and tweeted calling it fake.
